Your draft concern isn't far off, this hull isn't the best for dragging across mud flats, but actual draft is quite low when compared to the motor draft. If you get serious, I'd be glad to get into a discussion with you on hull types. The Starcraft SF was not the optimum hull to have used for the deckover. It is however very seaworthy and heading out for the 7 mile run across Narragansett bay in rough conditions in the dark that's a comfort. However the rest of the time, I wish I had gone with a semi v that is widest at the waterline. My old tub of a Wolverine was a supper decked boat, maximizing storage and initial stability and drafting almost nothing with the flat bottom aft. Decking details for the old hull is in the old Readers Rigs, off the main page.
