ITX Shot

Has anybody tried ITX Shot? I'm looking for something to use in older guns and maybe black powder shooting. It appears bismuth is no longer available.

I'm waiting for #5 or #6 to come out since I use 28ga for everything. I have read reports from guys that have shot some and it is a tight patterning shot.

Do you know if this stuff is OK to use in older barrels? I use to load Bismuth for a 1919 Ithaca Flues but now it appears Bismuth has disappeared.

According to Ballistic products it is. I wouldn't use BB in an old full choke barrel but that is just me. Were you going to load it with modern wads? I use Hevi shot in my 1950's Rem 11-48 28ga and haven't had any scratches. I used some nice shot in it with the petals cut off the wad so I could get more in with no problems too. Somebody was supposed to be bringing Bismuth back out but with so many no tox products rumored to be almost ready..I bet they are holding their cash close.

Thanks Lee.....I miss shooting a classic S x S even though I probably shoot my best with my Rem. Wingmaster 870 Mag. that I grew up with. I occasionally like to try my luck with blackpowder. It sure turns heads when it goes off!

Hi guys
I loaded ,and shot a bag of #4's this last fall in my 1918 made Flues.I didn't have time to paper test it , so I can only report that it works very well on ducks, and seemed very shootable in the old double.
I also loaded about 15 of them with 2F GOEX black powder , and 1 1/8oz of this shot in Mag Tech brass shells ,with traditional wads, and they also brought the ducks down.
VERY fun.

If anyone knows about what to shoot in older guns, Lee Harker and Joe O should. I saw an add in MPW"s for some hevi-Shot loads that are being marketed for old doubles.
Good luck on keeping your oldie in the hunt,
Harry
