Good morning, Anthony~
Indeed! As you know, I have long-admired the "Bauer boat" - sold by Ronnie Bauer on LI but designed and built by Charles Guck up in CT (although he, too, was a native LIer).
The similarity of vessels is a good example of "convergent evolution" - a term coined by evolutionary biologists to explain why two or more completely unrelated species look roughly the same - because they "solved" the same problem in much the same way, e.g., birds and bats both found wings to be helpful (or "adaptive" as we biologists would say).
Someday I need to get in a Bauer/Guck boat and see how she handles. - and just "feels". Good rower, poler and sea kindly I'm sure.
See you at Cedar Beach!
