James makes his RI stop!

We were guided by the Pro Dave Morton yesterday. Let me tell you that guy knows how to put a hunt on. He even had Starbucks Lattes hot and ready for us in the blinds. I think he thinks all guys from CT are as demanding a Andrew.... These were a perfect compliment to Barbs muffins.

We were Lucky to hunt with Scott, Wendell and Chris along with Dave. The weather was perfect and the birds flew. We all had a blast. That Star Light and Sunrise will stick in my mind for a long time.

Nice job on the Decoy Chuck. James is a battle wagon of a decoy.

2 of the 3 DHBP boats on this hunt, with Scotts still wet paint Brant sleds on the bow. They worked very well.

Scout lost his cool there were so many birds compared to his usual hunting spots!

The Birds had no idea John was right in front of the decoys.
Boy did he get a show. Dave you spoiled him, he says he wants to move to RI and hunt out of the "Rock"!

Bob ,

You are funny , i tried to get the Latte Machine but Andrew has it so all i could offer was Macaroni and meatballs !!! I have hunted with alot of guys but this group is by far the best i mean that . I do my best to get us to spots that everyone at least sees birds and this year we have been watching the spot we hunted and even though the numbers were not there like in the past few weeks we did see our share of birds . Scott , Wendall , Chris ,Bob and John who is always welcome to hunt the "Rock" were in attendance the goal for me was to have John ( Bobs) son shoot his 1st RI duck , John is on his way to becoming one heck of a duck hunter !!!! We setup in 3 different spots to try to work the birds the best we could with the spot Chris and i were at was where the brant wanted to be we shot 4 brant 2 Buffies , 1 black , Scott and Wendall also took 3 brant as well at there spot . sorry for no pictures but we will capture the next RI hunt in pictures . Thanks again to all involved this year !!!

Super time, Dave is so lucky to have the Bay practically in his back yard.

Chuck, James is a real game drawer, he wasn't in the Xterra 30 minutes before an adult doe came in to commit suicide. We got slowed down enough that she was able to get up after the solid thump, a bit awkward, but all legs seemed to be working as she departed into the dark. Thought for a moment we were going to be showing up at Dave's with a deer to hang. The "X" is equipped with an aftermarket steel rock crawler bumper and was totally unscathed! I suspect the bumper saved me over 1/2 it's cost on that hit and we made it to the ramp on schedule.

I'm attaching a few decoy pictures, James is out with the black & white decoys where he fit in nicely. The puddle ducks were mostly carved by past and present DHBP participants. It's great fun to have a special day to float the rig. I wish the lighting was better for the photos but it was a steelie grey day with what sun there was was in our face and the camera lens. Enjoy!

This first shot caught Bob & his son John underway in the top right corner. Dave's set is in the top left corner.

We did have to move the sleds, in their initial location the Brant didn't seem to see them. In the new location they sucked the two flights that came in from our side. Dave was already grabbing the brant coming from his side. He was obviously doing something right.
