This was a great day- went to a small pond- Rogers pond in kennebunk- he was all ready to go- i cast the weight last night and we we off- i sculled it with him first them for 2 hours he was off- he is getting there-

A good start- for the forth generation- I just wish my father was there to see it-

Donald,

That sculler looks wonderful on the water. What an experience it would be to hunt from it. Jameson has some exciting days ahead, as it looks to be a craft that will serve both of you well. It's a grand thing to have convenient access to a pond where he can play at honing his skills. Good for you for taking the initiative to "pass the torch."

thanks- i was about his age with my grandfather- then my dad- i know they both would be pleased to see him- pushing the crooked oar--

here was lesson one-

he just a great kid- i know every parent says that- but he really is- kind- well spoken- eager to learn- loves nature-

Nice looking boat. Is that a one man only boat? Looks like it would be fun to build. Does the guy who made that boat offer plans or does he make them to sell?

That is great! I am happy to see the little man right in there pushing on with the family tradition, not that he really had a choice right! HEHEHEH!.

Buy the way How long is that float? I am working on the lines from the half model you lent me.

Mike

Mike- its just under 16 foot-

thanks- he is loving his new Float!!

i am going to have an essex river float made as well- its a two made white float- I have one but again 50 yrs old and not what i want my boy in-

Take care-Donald

Donald those pictures are great. What a nice job. Those memories will be burned in and I would say will be hard to forget. Thanks for showing them.

brad- yes all newburyport and ther later joppa flats boats had external weights - the merrimack river float- a bigger float had a track and trolly system with internal weights-

glad you like the pics- he is loving it- we are heading back to this pond this weekend- and next wek we are going to a camp on a lake for vacation and he wants to take it along to practice-

I didn't word that quite right...lol! I saw the original pictures you posted as well, I was wondering were the photos of Jameson testing her out were with the weight in place.

Again, great pictures and float.

Brad

That is so cool. He's sure to really enjoy the thrill of the hunt with his own boat. He looks like he's enjoying it and it's never to young to start. way to go. He'll love you for years to come, and he'll be your hunting partner for a liftime.

i know he loves this float- he has heard many many stories of his grandfather and greatgrandfather - the house had pics up of them and he has spent from day one at my duck camp so this is a natural thing i guess-

funny- i know guys that talk about there long family hertiage in waterfowling- but can not prove it- here is proof- 4 generations-

he is a good kid- and i know he will repesct his history and make his own mark in it as well-

Donald
