Japan Update

After some searching on the website for the group she is working for and figuring out how to use Google Translator, I have been able to figure out where exactly my wife is in Japan.
She is working in the Hashikami Middle School, in Hashikami, Aomori Prefecture. It appears the school has been converted to a makeshift hospital.
Hashikami is in the far northeast of the main island, well north of the crippled nuke plants.
When I saw her name on the list of medical staff working there, I didn't know if I should laugh or cry, so I did alittle of both. What a relief to actually know where she is!

Still thinking of you and your wife Carl. And all those who she is helping, I am sure that they need it.

Carl - We will all be pulling for her safe return. I have to admit that seeing people staggering around not having anything left and not knowing where their loves ones were and probably getting sick from radiation at the same time........I just cried watching the news. It is just awful.

I'm glad you found out where she is. It sounds like she should be safe from the radiation, but I'll bet mega busy! Keep the updates coming when ya can. My thoughts& prayers going out to your family.

I heard from Kaoru this morning!!
Nahoko-san, a fellow nurse with her team, was able to get an email to me:

Hi Carl,
I am writing this on behalf of Kay since electricity of the area where she is has not been recovered.

She is doing well and her contribution as NP is tremendous. I am very honored to work with her.
best regards
Nahoko

I am so relieved!!!
I can hardly keep myself together, I can't begin express how it feels to finally know for sure she is OK.
Thank you so much to all of you for your kind words and prayers.
I cannot tell you much it truely means to me to have such a great group of people here that truly support each other.
Thank You!

Carl,

I can't begin to fathom the stress of being separated from your wife in these circumstances. It is the very least I/we can do to support her in her efforts. I am glad you have received such good news.

Hang in there Carl. It may be a short message but at least it's reassuring that all is well. Our thoughts are with you and your family. It is people like you wife that makes the world a better place.

I'm glad for you Carl. It's got to be hard for all of you but I'm sure it's hard for her to see her people and homeland going though this. It's a horrible situation over there and it's a wonderful thing she is doing. It's something you both can be proud of. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Take care,

Ed L.

Carl my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. A special prayer for all in Japan during this hardship. Godbless!

Laura and I will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers.

This is a horrific disaster, but it's all the more real when one of the duckboats "family" is involved personally. It sounds as though your wife is doing great work. Congratulations.
