I actually talked to Kaoru this morning!
She had travelled to Sendai for a day, where there power & cell phone coverage.
She is doing great. Tired but really feeling well. She is very happy to be working as part of a great team and providing much needed help to people in need.
She will be going back Hashigami after staying in Sendai for the night.
After that I will not hear from her again before she returns to Tokyo to catch her plane home.

I have attached pictures of the town she is in. As you can see, it was devastated by the tsunami.

Thanks again to everyone for all your prayers and support!

Carl,

Such is the hubris of man..then one day...

Total destruction.

We are still praying for your wife and Japan.

Carl,

I've seen first ahnd the damage an F5 tornado can do. Pictures could not due justice to that damage and I'm convinced the same goes for what your wife is seeing first hand. The scale of the damage is impossible to wrap your mind around.

I pray that God will use your wife to help the max. amount of people possible and for her safety.

Hang in there,

Jeff

Truly devastating. I have heard that Toyko has split the city into 6 zones and that power is out in each on of the 6 for 3 or 4 hours/day due to lack of generating capability. One of our plants has been affected and it is difficult to meet demands. Many are understanding but some are not.

Sounds like you ahve a great wifey.

What a wonderful woman you are married to. Our prayers are with her as she continues to work to help others. When I looked at the pictures she sent it made me think of those people who had their home, their little piece of earth that we all call Heaven-----the quaint Japanese gardens etc.---all gone in a fleeting second. Made me think of the anguish that families will go through in life not "really" knowing about those that vanished.
