Jay's first Duck

Here is my friend Jay with his first ever bagged bird. A beautiful Black duck that he hit the water stone dead at 40 yards. As the snow and ice formed on the bay I knew we had a good chance to get him some shooting opportunities. He took advantage of it and is now hooked. It was one of the highlights of last season. Donning the Whites...sigh. I'm going to miss those late season hunts on Champlain. Here is my favorite pic of the late season. My son Miles when he was nine. We made a snow fort and hunted out of it on the shore.
