now the quail are showing no respect for my shotgun windvane!

Now the quail are crapping on my gun and even the shooter.

Like Rodney Dangerfield........I get "No Respect, No Respect"

Dave,at least that quail had his Tux on.Pretty bird for sure.They heard you were going to bring a whole city full of their relatives in soon.
 
Dave- I love those quail. So much fun to look at and watch. We used to have babies up at the bird feeder all the time at my grandparents' place. CUTE!
 
Yes, Valley Quail are nice looking birds and I indend to raise them for release here on the place in the future.

The pair here at the house always nest just a few feet away from the bird feeders and once the young hatch the family moves up to our garden and take refuge in the row of berries we have there. The spend the summer in the garden and then all the quail get together in a flock by mid-September. They flock stays around the pond area during the winter.
