Just joined...thought I'd say hi

I live in Spokane, WA, and just finished my second waterfowl season. I'm hooked for sure! Carved my fist decoy this winter and am looking forward to floating my own next season. I'd like to post some photos but I've had trouble finding software to resize photos to the 100kb minimum. You can see some pics from last season on my blog www.alittlebitofwild.blogspot.com (I'm terrible at updating it though!)

Btw, just ordered Keith's book today...can't wait!

Cheers

Abe

Welcome aboard. I like your matching beards pictures, nice looking pup.
Hope to see more pictures after seeing your blog. Very cool stuff on there.

I've used this free program for resizing and when you save it gives you a quality option and is always under 100kb for me if I'm under 700 or 800 pixels wide. Click Here
Photobucket works well for me too but others have had trouble with it.

Abe,
Welcome aboard, great people here you are gonna like it. Thanks for taking me to Kodiak,i can only dream.By the way i like the hat.
Bill.

Ok, got some pics resized, a couple from this season which wasn't great but we had a couple great hunts!

Bill, never been to Armbruster, but a couple of my buddies went this year. Tucker is my first DD and I wouldn't trade him for a pile of green stuff...he's a stud in my book and a part of the fam! Btw, very nice looking draht. Still not sure if I want to run him in VGP, but he is qualified to breed and all that, just haven't gotten him on the stud page.

Tom, I've been talking to Dick at Savage forge about coming over and hanging out a bit. I think I'll be over April 8th, 9th, or 10th on my way to Alaska. I'd love to get together and talk dekes and duck huntin.

Pics: first is opening day duck hunt with the boys right after I got back from nine weeks in Alaska. Priceless!

The next day we had a helluva goose shoot (secret spot)

First decoy

...and a bandy greenhead I caught at the river this winter.

cheers

Abe

Great stuff Abe.
I'm new to this forum as well and belong to a few great carving forums. :)
If those pictures don't make you want to leave work and go home to your kids I don’t know what would. Took my girls (4 and 2) to look at some common Mergs down the road yesterday.
My wife always gives me crap about my oversized sticker on my Yakima box that says "hunt With your kids not For them." Probably don’t have those stickers where you are because you don’t have the curse of the big city. It’s pretty big and florescent yellow, so I understand her complaint. You have a lucky family and fortunate arrangement.

Good Hunting,

George

Welcome Abe. That's a fine looking decoy, especially for number 1. Also a fine DD. Good job on the 179, I got lazy last summer and was not well enough prepared for the test. I'll be sure not to show my pup your blog, I think he'd be more than jealous!

Welcome Abe,

Good start on the decoy spread. Now get another 1-2 dozen done before Oct. hehe. Enjoyed your blog. Some good times you are a having. Nice looking family.

Thanks guys, good to see so many folks from Washington on here...and some draht guys, thats awesome.

Steve, it only took me a dozen tries to figure out the pics!

Andrew, thanks man, I'm more proud of his 77 VJP! He's my first dog and that was the first HZP that I'd ever been to, I was extremely pleased!
