Just to let you guys Know................

Jode~

Although we have not met, I have long admired your work. I know you'll come to love the next shop you build - but I also know that some things are truly irreplaceable.

All the best,

SJS

I'm sorry for your loss Jode, been to a bunch of fire scenes and they always suck. If you need any help with the salvage I'm not too far away.

OMG Jode...I can't even imagine having that happen. My sympathy. My prayers are with you as I know it's gotta be really tough.

Thanks guys for the notes, emails, and calls of encouragement. It means more to me and my family than you know. Hope to start on some clean up next week.

PS My hats off to all the fireman on here both paid and volenteer. The volenteer companies that responed to my Shop, saved my house. and that was no small task. I owe alot to them and hope to pay it forward when I can.

Jode,
what a sad thing. I hope things work out realy quickly and that you can get back to carving your excellent decoys soon in a new workshop.

Wow! Sorry to hear about this Jode. I remember coming to your shop a few years ago with Dr. Story and sitting around your workbench talking about duck hunting, decoys and life. I felt right at home and like I was sitting in your living room. Your wife had even brought out some cokkies to munch on. My prayers are with you as you begin to pick up the peices and move forward. Just think about the first class new shop you get to build and outfit now. Good luck Brother!

Jode - A quick story regarding fire if I might...

I attend what used to be a little country church. Our church is 110 years old. It's burned down twice in it's 110 years. Both fires were a result of lightning. And, for us believers, we know who's in charge of lightning... :) Anyway, each time our church burned down, God used those as opportunities to trust Him and, to grow our church. Today, there are upwards of 1,000 people that attend our church on Sundays. Not bad for a little country church on the corner of a corn and beanfield.

Sometimes we don't understand why things happen. But, many times, God will use these as opportunities to grow us.

You have many more decoys to carve my friend. And, I can't wait to see your new shop. I already know, it will be outstanding... Hang in there. We're pulling and praying for you... Pat

Thank you all for the encouragement. There were alot of good memories in that barn. Here some pictures of the start of cleanup. We have a long way to go.
