KARA Duck Bandit Is Finished

After 6 weeks she's finished. My son & I took her out for the maiden voyage today.
I had never been in a KARA before & was really surprised how stable she was.
This was my first build & can't wait to get started on another this spring. I would
like to try one of Devlin's boats. It's made out of 1/4" ply with 6oz cloth on top
& bottom with 4 coats epoxy. 3 coats on floor & 1 coat on inside of upper deck.
Made sure to put in a drain plug & bilge pump. Seen how alot of people had trouble
getting water out. Used epoxy fillets everywhere they could be used. I hope to get
many years of use out of her. I did install a transom & battery box in case I ever
need to use a trolling motor.

Many thanks to Ed Askew's website. Got alot of info from there.

Looks great. They are fun boats to play and hunt in. Are you going to use any kind of blind over the cockpit?.

From a Kara user.

Sweet build James,
Looks like your son is gonna have a hard time letting you use that boat.

Fred, don't plan on a blind on the cockpit, I want to keep it as low profile as possible.
John, it's BC grade 1/4" ply. I'll use the good stuff when I try the Devlin build.
