I used one bys on the front and rear ribs, 2 bys in the middle. I have patented the rights for the gun rack......and I will take you to court! I bought my Parker paint (gallon) from Cabelas and it was more than enough. You will end up using about half of it, plenty for touch ups and repairs. I bought the parker spray paint (8 pack) and stencil kit.......liked the stencil, paint was crap. Took forever to dry and two of the eight cans kept clogging up. These paints were only used for the camo effects on my boat (camo pattern has also been pattented). I have plenty of the spray paint left if you are interested and I will throw in the stencil too, just needs cleaned up. I finished my lights, flooring, and back rest installation (all patented) and am now working on the trailer which will haul this incredible creation to the marshy duck utopias ("duck utopias" has a patent pending). The next time I build one I will make all the ribs 2 bys, the side bracing 5 inches tall and build a monster of a boat, (these are my ideas and will be patented). The boat ends up weighing a ton anyway and it will be on a trailer so I might as well beef it up the way I want. dc
