LaCrosse ???

Well, Phil, there might be wimps that can't camp during an Indian Summer weekend when a sunburn is more likely than frost bite, but I don't think any of our group is in that category. In any event, even if it's nasty, we are going to have a fun time.

Guess I'll put my 2 cents in.
Hunting,
Might as well try to sort out a plan considering that some of us do not hunt the river on a regular basis. I for one don't get over there but once every two years or so. With that in mind, I'd rather not spring for out-of-state fees if we are going to be spread out anyway.
I've got no problem driving from Goose Island for camping and Lansing for hunting. I have my truck topper set up with a bed and stove. It can be cramped for waterfowl hunting but I can manage a weekend of it with out much problem. I only have a solo boat (sorry, it's just not big enough for two) but would entertain hunting together with another party, (either in two boats or doubling up in a larger boat provided by the other party).
Phil, you up for a tag-a-long in your boat? Tom, Pete,? what locations would you be interested in hunting, considering your normal lisc. purchasing? (Just trying to minimize additional expenses for all parties.) Anyone else,,,, thoughts/questions?

Dave
To add to your plan I would prefer to stay at Goose Island and hunt there. With all the experienced hunters we should be able to handle that but without bringing a boat and riding with Phil (I hope the invite still stands) I'll go where Phil goes. I'm scheduled the following week with the guide Todd and my son hunting pool 9. My 2 cents.

Wiz, my offer certainly still stands... I will say, I have hunted Pool 8... 1x... 6 or 7 years ago. I know Pool 9 .. not 8... I am fine with whatever...

Dave, I'll be hunting with Mike Trudel in his boat on 8 as I have spent most time on that pool in recent years. That weekend it might be a little early for a big push of divers so I'd expect teal, Woodies and other puddlers for the most part. That said, we do have a two can limit and they might be down by then. I don't know anything about the Iowa side though Big Slough is on the Iowa side and is just north of the Lansing Bridge.

Unless this year is different... I would be surprised to find many woodies and teal... Around the 10/28 aerial survey is when the first large bump of big divers arrive..
