Here is the last days hunt three of the 6 in the group had in Manitoba this year...Wonderful excursion....We spent the first 5 minutes of day light finding a location on this small lake for some feeding or rafting birds...Found one within 400 yards of the dock...Ran the boat in and threw out 3 dozen blocks and only had roughly an hour of hunting to give us time to get back to the others and head south...My first ten in the boat I had four birds down...Then Doc McCullough busted his three or four...Then Doc Handcock...Kent, Remington, DU, and Delta waterfowl can sure be proud of him...We sure were...Watching only 100 yards or less ,tight against a shadowed shoreline...For his extent in the boat he had flock after flock pass him when he had shells or didn't....And to all take notice to the placid lake...There was not a ripple in sight...Doc McCullough and myself got our eight a piece with not a box shot between us...Hancock on the other hand shot every box I am Steve brought...Well not quite but it seemed like it...The days before were just as spectacular up there even though it was seasonaly warm...

Kristan,
You are doing things that I only dream about. Congrats on that wonderful hunt. Nice pic. Glad to hear that you made good use of your time!

When I got home, I went to take all the pictures off of my camera, and accidentally deleted everything. I have the card with a buddy who has some new software and he is trying to recover them. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Manitoba was a great trip this year. Unseasonably warm, but the birds were there. This was the first time we have layout hunted there. Our guide picked up 3 MLBs. The day before we did a canvasback shoot and what a dream come true to take a canvasback out of a layout boat in Manitoba!!

I spoke to Hancock last night. He is still in remorse over the poor shooting......

Are you coming up over Thanksgiving?

Best,
Steve

Steve, you do realize that this is "almost" worse than forgetting your wife's birthday!

I did forget my wife's birthday one year. Man, that was a mistake!!

Good news though. I was able to get the photos back!! Bad news, I still can't post pictures. I just can't get the steps right. I'll have to have someone email me step by step instructions for computer dummies!

Best,
Steve

Hey Steve and Kristan.....looks like a great time had by all. Kristan let Steve cook those Broadbills as he really has the touch and that way we won't have Bluebill poppers for class. HEhe!
