Last Day (video added)

It was a snowy last day here. The only bird that left was the first bird in the spread. He will haunt me until next season. A nice GE. At the time, I thought he was too far out... given where I shot the other birds.. he wasn't. He buzz just out side the decoys, and landed 60-70 yards out, and proceeded to dive, feed, and swim for the next 30 minutes.... I watched at least 2 dozen Cans land or try to land in the decoys after the snow stopped. I did record it with the Go Pro... but I need to get different lenses. The ones that were 5-10 yards away were the only ones that look close.

A great way for you and Kodi to end the season. Put that golden eye to rest. He'll be back next year. Congrats on another good day on the water.

One heck of a way to end the season!
Seems to me like you had a great year for cans, send some down this way, we've got 50 days left!
Give Kodi a couple dog bones on us, he deserves them.

Nice pics Phil. I know what you mean about the GoPro lens' I didn't think the lens were replaceable. I've tried videoing 3D targets for example at 20 yds and can't even see were the arrow landed.

Craig was talking about this on one of his other posts. There are other lenses that can be put in a GoPro. Do a search for a GoPro lenses or go to the below link.

You can even buy a GoPro from them with the new lens already in it.

What a perfect duck hunting day. Don't you love hunting when it is like this? My favorite time to be out. Only got one chance this year to hunt in the snow and calling it snow is a stretch. Hope your season picked up towards the end.

Looks like a very good way to end the season. Congratulations.

Our first split ended yesterday, and of course now the area is chock full of Canada geese, lots of lesser & great Scaup, Redheads, Buffleheads, Mallards & Blacks and even some Shovelers and Teal.

(I was very impressed by the hen to drake ratio for the Bluebills and Redheads. More hens than I've seen in years. Our bucks for the ducks are working.)

Better late than never, was joy to see that many birds. When the season reopens Dec.31st, I imagine most will be gone, but ya never know.

To those further south, get ready!

Once again, Phil, thanks for all those pictures. I'm glad you got into the ducks that last day of the season. I believe you have many memories to store from this season. It is good to see that you had some successful times.

Good morning, Phil~

Great photos of a really picturesque spot - and bag. Congratulations!

I'm on Long Island right now. We opened our second "half" (90 % of the days) yesterday with a nice Black Duck shoot. LI goes 'til the end of January.

All the best,

SJS
