Latex decoy paint

oil seems to be the go to for burlapped decoys. oil primer like Zinnzer is hard to beat.
Anyone have experience with latex paint for decoys?
I have avoided latex as it is a sheet coating vs penetrating paint. figured it would peel.

I've used exterior house paint samples for burlapped decoys with good success.

Not so much on plastics.

I've used it with no problems on sealed cork and plastic, the new stuff with primer added should be very good. I use it to mark crab pot floats and it lasts very, very well.

I use latex - Behr Ultra sample jars from Home Depot - with good success. It'll never be as tough as oils, but, it's inexpensive and comes in any color needed in handy volumes. On the other hand, I do seal my birds with epoxy or spar varnish for oil-based primer before my latex topcoats.

Here is an example: https://stevenjaysanford.com/painting-gadwall-gunners/

Hope this helps,

California made a dead flat, and I mean DEAD flat latex house paint that I've used on sea duck decoys. It holds up very well with one coat of primer and two top coats. I'll get the name and post it later.

Thanks, Paint reviews were very good for behr ultra, a friend of mine has used it for decoys and reports same results as yours. as time goes on i will begin to work in some "sample jars of colors that are hard to mix" thanks for the heads up.
