Lathe workstation update

Hi guys and gals,

Between trips to Minnesota, Colorado and Missouri, I was able to finish (for the most part) my frame/workstation for my lathe. I installed two LED overhead lights to provide adequate lighting where ever I may roll the lathe within my garage. I'm pretty sure I will be adding a small focused LED light, which can be positioned to shine in from the tailstock area to illuminate the inside of a bowl as it is being turned.

The PVC tool rack will hold the most used tools.

Some photos from Colorado. Yes, that white stuff is some of last years snow still looking down on the mountain lakes.

Fifteen minutes after this picture was taken, these were swimming in grease. Fifteen minutes after that, they disappeared from my plate. [smile] Ahhh, life is good.

Steve,
Thanks, after building "stuff" in a precision tool and die shop for 38 years, this was a cakewalk. I spent a little time in my garage last evening before and after supper. Don't know what the temperature was, but sweat was dripping off my chin and my shirt was soaked. Turning a bowl may be a skill, but it is not an action which should make one think he is in a sauna. I need to pop out there this morning before the outside temps start to climb.

You'll likely want some serious weight on bottom shelf when you start turning anything big, but the station sure looks like it will handle that. Thanks, Dave Evenson

Some nice fish you have there Dave! I miss the mountains and those wide open spaces...sooooo much.

Your lathe station turned out great. It gives me some ideas for a roll around carving station (my garage/shed is too small for a dedicated carving area and everything else area).
