Layout seat/cushion

Just got back from a Snow Goose hunt, layed out in the spread and sit up to shoot.....apparently, that action isn't as easy as it used to be, even with Aleve, lol
Any suggestions on a pad, cushion, seat thingee, that makes sitting up in a timely fashion easier?
Thanks

George,
depending on the bind you're using, you can scour out a shallow depression where your butt would be and then the backrest will sit tilted more upright rather than laying out.

Another option: you can put something on the ground beneath the bar supporting your head to raise your torso (some blinds have a rectangular frame on the ground which might prevent this). Both options will tilt your seated position closer to sitting up. You might have a higher profile because of that though.

Some of the blinds I've seen are designed to seat you in a more upright position than others, so you might check them out at a store and see if one works better for you?

Phil,

I did that P90X workout with my cross country team and I was sore for 3 days.

Well, back to the question at hand, I'd recommend looking at the MoMarsh ratcheting layout seat. Mine is very comfortable and it would probably give you an edge at sitting up quickly in a field hunt. I've only used it in my boat and have not had a problem.

Thanks all, I thought that little blue pill would help you "spring up" , so I was taking 2 a day,... nothing,... I guess Aleve works differently :)

Anyhoo, I went to Rogers supply and they have a "spring assist" pad with lumbar support, sort of like a partial ejection seat! cheaper then the MoMarsh seat and guaranteed or your money back. It IS rocket science

can you post a link to that seat? I don't see it on the website, but might not be searching with the right terms... Dave

Here you go Dave, momarsh.com/invisalounge.html.

I just bought the MoMarsh seat, and I've used it one 4 or 5 hunts. It's pretty damn comfortable. Real big difference!

Highly recommend one...

I'm on my third year with my Momarsh Invisalounger, and I can't believe it is still working. I hunt in brackish to salt, and sooner or later everything corrodes. I really did not expect the ratcheting seat to keep working this long. I quit using ratcheting strap hold down because they were all rusted up in a month or less. Whatever metal they are using inside this is pretty good, because the seat is always wet and I have no way to dry it out.
