Looking for a new aluminum V-hull

Hi John, sorry it took so long to post these. Some of the pics show the boat all dressed up and others show the space/config of the inside of the boat with the blind on, etc.

Oops, forgot my old Crestliner is a Canadian, but the new ones my pals have are Kodiaks. Still, they take paint pretty well.... Good luck no matter what you do.

Thanks for the pictures Adam. That looks like a well hidden blind in those first couple pictures.

Not sure if someone mentionned it here, but one advantage of removing the floors during duck season is that you avoid icing on the floor. I know the floor of my Smokercraft gets pretty slick after Molly makes a few retrieves.

Thanks M Pietch. Those Crestliners look nice, welded hull with an open floor plan. One downside is my wife may flip if I buy a new boat and then paint over it. I will still go and take a look at them. May have to take a day and visit these dealers. We've got Lund, Lowe, Crestliner, and Polarcraft dealers all within 15 minutes of each other, and then the Xpress and Starcraft dealers are about 45 minutes give-or-take to the north and south.

I recently bought a very gently used Alumacraft Yukon 165 from a dealer. They were made up until about 2009 I think and there are some around for sale. They are basically like the Lunker that is offered now. I really love mine and it'll do about 30-35mph depending on load and conditions.

Color is the Alumacraft "khaki" with khaki marine vinyl on decks and floor. Riveted with double plated bow. 16'5" long, 76" beam, 20"transom w/splashwell, about 8 degrees of deadrise, rated for a 40-50hp motor depending on year. Front deck and rear "bench seat style deck" which houses fuel and starter battery. Livewell along one gunnel and rod box along the other. 8" of wide open floor on the tiller model. May not be enough boat for your needs, it's rated at about 1235lbs of motor, persons, gear.

Food for thought anyway. Good luck and I hope you end up with something you like.
