looking for input on a Go-Devil 1536

I am currently hunting out of a Lund Ducker, with my home built 6.5HP surface drive mud motor. I am looking for something that is still manageable by myself when hunting alone but a little more capable if I have a second hunter along or the dog and that can handle ice much more comfortably. most of the areas I hunt are very shallow and the longest run from the launch is maybe a couple of miles. The other option is building my own boat next spring.
 
I don't know this exact hull or its stability, but I cant think of any 15' long, 36" wide hull I would trust in cold, rough or ice conditions. Especially with a small longtail.
At that length and only 36" wide, I just don't see it being a stable gunning platform, maybe I'm wrong, but I don't see it.
My buddy has a GD 1654. It's great in shallow calm water and a very stable gunning platform.
But its an uncomfortable wet ride in rough water. And slow, with a 25hp longtail, 12 mph tops.
I cant imagine a 1536 being any better, only worse.
Don't see the hull design handling ice well either. Its tough enough too, but its a smooth hull, I think it will ride up & onto ice.


IMO, there has to be better options out there.


BTW, GD no longer makes these boats.
 
I should have specified it is a short tail, it currently scoots me along just under 20mph on mu current setup. I also understand they don't make these boats anymore. 15' is about big as I really want to go with a small vehicle and mostly hunting solo.
 
Godevil makes a good boat, but it's a heavy boat built like a tank. I've ridden and driven a 16 x 36 GD, it's a fast boat with a 23 longtail and surprisingly stable. It'd be a dog with a small 6.5 hp tho.

I'd look hard at the Phowler "prowler" sneak series boats. They seem to build a good boat that is a lot lighter than most mud boats and looks like it'd be easy to hide.

I stand corrected then, on the stability part at least.

I run a GD 18x38 with a 27 longtail it is a very stable boat to work from or shoot from. they are heavy and not made for rough water but can be used in a small chop. They are low sided and easy to hop in and out of by holding on to grab bar. You wont flip it. It is heavy enough to break ice but with the longtail not that nimble in a ice channel.
 
I have run a 15×30 Go Devil duck skiff with a longtail for years. I use it to get into spots a canoe can't go. It is narrow but it isn't going to tip over. I run it thru the log jams with no problems.
