Looking for some insight/knowledge

Mark,

Looking at Dave's drawing and then looking at some local posts on using large ATV trailers in the AK Bush I found this link to lock n roll trailer hitches. It may be overkill for what you are wanting, but the concept is there in the photos.

Ray,

I looked at the BOB trailers, which are a very similar design to the Rokon single wheel trailer, but both those as well as the Extra wheel suffer from insufficient carrying capacity. I think the BOB trailers are about 70 lbs and the Extra wheel in the 50 lb neighborhood. Granted the systems could be beefed up like the Rokon trailer (300 lb capacity). You are correct the twist in the mounting system is one of the keys. The tall connection tube/pipe between the bike and the trailer takes care of most of that but also requires more metal fab than I could do - I realized that I need to get my own welder and learn how to weld before tackling another engineering change :) I am confident that I can get my design to perform well by remounting it onto the axle bracket so the load is down near the ground were it belongs. At the moment it isn't a priority so it has been sitting in the garage since the first trial runs.
