Looks Like I am heading South for the Winter to Stay

Congrats on the new job!
Hope your move goes well and you are able to sneak in a few hunts too.

Once again I will tell all I appreciate the comments and encouragement!!!! Since I am not married or have a better half able to move at the moment it will be a little rocky at first till I show my redneck side....Already eyeing crawfish traps online in case I get the house I am wanting on the Oachita River...

Willy, the job itself is a new plant move from Wisconsin down to Monroe...It might not be able to do much for the first 3 to 6 months except work on getting the plant running...And also Willy you will be proud to hear that I have been painting with acrylics lately...Only painted two birds with "earls" this year...

And once again I will give all those a ring when I get down there...Bringing my bibs, dogs, shotguns, handful of decoys, and shells just in case I can get some free time...I will not bet on it but there may be some free moments in the action...Expecially when I get moved to 2nd shift to help...

Thanks Again,

Kristan

Rick,

That ain't funny! It must be more civilized over there in LR because that's exactly what I heard when I moved to Rogers AR! It was bad until I could prove I was capable of shooting a running deer from the passenger seat across the driver though his side window of a "73" F150 at 100 yards while drinking an Old style.......warm!

Take care,

Ed L.

Congrats on the new position. I don't think we've ever had a duckboats.net convention in Monroe. Looks like you get to host the first one. Is your place big enough for say 30 guys and their rigs?

Eric,

It may take a few months to get settled...I still have to get rid of my house in Fort Wayne...Once settled I will be happy to host all who would care to come down...Now remember I am still a neophyte to the region so it may take me a season or two to understand the area, the etique of the hunt in the area, and have a secondary boat to handle the bayous...After being down there it seems I will be wading alot to get the BBSB through...

Some food for thought for the first season would be putting together a hunt down near Vermillion Bay on the intercoastal waterways and/or Toledo Bend on the Texas boarder...Toledo Bend is definitely an area I will hunt before the season is out this year...Doc has already told me he might hold off on a few consults next year to come down for a few weeks...That is another thing...I will need all of those married who plan to come down, to send me their addresses...I will have to start sending, "Honey, Do you Love Me?" cards to give all of those a foot in the door to break the ice when that day comes...

Give me a few month to get settled, suck down a few crawdads, drink a few gallons of bayou, and get a place. Then I will invite all to a carving party in the spring, with fishing, and etc...

Regards,

Kristan
