Lou or anyone else on Lake St. Clair

I'm looking to get out this weekend for our last two days of duck season and was wondering if St. Clair is open or iced up yet?
Thaks,

Chris

Hi Chris,
I've been on the other side of the State the last several days and am not quite sure what our situation is at this point. I do know that we have 100's of thousands of ducks out there (saw them before I went West) and we haven't had that cold of weather except for the last couple days. We'll have to see how the ramps/access will be...that will tell the story. I'll be doing some scouting during the next couple days and should have an idea soon.
Looking to get out to do some sculling on LSC or the St. Clair River...whichever offers the best possibilities.
Later,
Lou

Thanks Lou, I think I'll take a drive down to the lake. I'd like to try the St. Clair River but I don't have a motor on my sculler and I don't think I could row against that current! It's been a few years since I've been walleye fishing there and it seems to me it moves at a pretty fast clip.

The St. Clair River does have a decent current. Everything depends upon how good of a sculler you are. :) I've chased Canvasbacks upstream against the 7 knot current and 15 mph headwind. If you're going to be in the area, give me a shout. We'll be looking for birds and access for the next couple days.
