Maine road trip advice.

Lol......no kidding.......I spent a lot of time jeeping and hunting with some local guys.

My wife's family has been in the area since the 40s....before her grandparents passed, I spent many a night listening to stories of the area.

The farm has no Internet and only one fuzzy tv channel so that was a great way to pass the time.
 
I would also focus on Maine. Planted red pine as a young man in the Jackman area after the big flood of 86/87 . Fishing was unbelievable but all the bridges had been swept away so getting anywhere was tough. reminded me of the Adirondacks back in the 60's and early & 70's
