Maker of this boat?

Kurt~

Beautiful boat! But, being a Long Island boy, I cannot help with the ID.

Having done a bit of "duckboat detective" work on a few Great South Bay Scooters over the past couple of years, I hope you can find the right veteran gunner who will know for sure - from memory.

All the best,

SJS

Thanks for the replies....going to try to sell it for some Christmas cash. Would love to keep it though. I have one just like it and they go through the bay like a dream!

I think it is a Sam Hunt, the style and constuction is very similar to my Sam Hunt that I had when I was in HighSchool. He usually made a wider cockpit like the one shown. Just my two cents.

Does it have sawn frames? My Sam Hunt has steamed frames with sawn deck beams. To me it looks better finished than a Sam Hunt. Sam had a square bow too, on all that I have seen (I round mine when I rebuilt it). If we can get some detailed pics of the inside, frames, the outside corners of the transom. Pretty hull, humm, do I need another project?

Hmmm, Dave. I think I speak for more than just myself when I say it's about time for a new Duck Boat rebuilding thread. And I think you are just the guy for it! HEHE!
