Flocks are thick and willing to decoy, we had a great layout hunt last Friday with Cans and Redheads a plenty. For those heading north next week with the MLB'ers, expect some great hunts and see you in a week.

Here's a few pics of last week's hunt.

Someday that will be me. Got a few times last year, but just no birds working. One of these days I'll be out when and where the birds want to be.

Tight Lines ... Fred

Bires is flying to Seatle on business Friday night and we'll blow out of here first thing Sat morning.....what time are you planning on heading north? If you aren't leavng before "too early" on Sunday shoot me a phone number and maybe we can meet in Winnepeg and drive up together.....

Was just on the phone with Mark and he tells me you carve a DYNAMITE Duncan Ducharme Can....I WANT ONE....if you have an "extra" hanging around that you could part with please bring it with you....if you don't have one that you can part with then please consider making me one the next time you are making them.....we can talk more about that when we meet next week....

Another question....will you be longlining or single rigging your rig? I'm "told" that the water depth will be 4' t 5'....if that is the case I'd "prefer" to single line, (I'll be hunting a smaller rig than most everyone else will be), if possible....any ideas on what I'll "actually" encounter?...

And finally....any chance you know Albert Hochbaum, (son of H. Albert Hochbaum of Delta fame)...I'd like to "visit" with him while I'm in Winnepeg but the contact number I have on him is no longer good.....

See ya soon.....

Steve

Lee,

Get your arse up here next week, all you need is a plane ticket and waders. You're more than welcome to come up next year and we can hunt the Delta Marsh and layout hunt to the northwest. Not sure if Brent will make next week, you two can plan on coming up next year.

Steve,

I can't claim the Duscharme I gave Mark last year, I had a friend make copies of a Duscharme decoy I have and still have a few left, you can have one if you want.

I won't be heading up until Tues am, if you have any questions or need info you can call me on your way through the Peg. Send me a message if you want my ph #.

I longline everything, but the water is rather shallow. We hunted a bar with the water only 2 ft deep and full of Sago. You'll probably hunt north of here where limits for "you'alls" is 8 birds vice 2 birds where we hunted. The bay that Marks likes to hunt is max 8 feet deep.

I don't know Albert, but do own all the books his dad wrote, must reading if you're a Canvasback fan! Some of the Delta staff might be able to track down the number, time permitting I'll see if I can get that for you.

Have a safe trip and kick Bires in the nuts for me.

We can try to get something together. You know Steve may have to kick Bires 5 or 6 times to actually hit one of his BB sized nads.

Dear brother Gary,

Hey, I know that bridge!! Were you gunning with Jonathan and Bob? You're hunting over the same bed that Jonathan was gunning over when he was checked by the Game Wardens. I was within sight. Funny, when they checked us, I had to explain the fact that our limit only included two birds. They thought it should be four. I pulled out the regs, explaining that we were both Nonresidents AND aliens. It all made sense then. Of course, Blair's bay is another story.

Thanks for the post. I'm getting excited, now! Great pics, as usual.

Sorry I ratted you out to Steve. Fact is, that IS one incredible decoy, and I KNOW it will become one of his favorites. He's funny like that.

In closing, I so much look forward to seeing you and hunting with you again. You are one incredible person, Gary! Please tell Big Dirty that he MUST come! Who's gonna harrass Bires?

God Bless you and your lovely family,

Mark

LIKE THAT???,LIKE THAT?????????????????? LET ME COUNT THE WAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

with one of the Ducharme birds....pick one you can part with and don't let me see the others or the whining and begging and pleading for more than one might be more than you can stand......I'll send you a note so you can shoot me your phone number.....I'll be sure to delive the "kick in the nads" when I see Bires.....

Talked to him this a.m. and his girlfriend asked him "WHAT are you and Sutton going to talk about for 25 hours in the truck"?.....I told Greg he should have told her, "NO PROBLEMS Babe....for the first 10 hours or so we'll be looking at the nekid pictures of you I'm bringing with me"....and then add...."and then after that we'll be talking about them for the rest of the trip"......Greg, being the PW that he is said he couldn't repeat that cause he "might get in trouble"......all of which leads me to beleive that even kicking him three or four times as Lee suggests might not be of any use as clearly Lynn has Greg's "package" stored in a box, and locked in a safe and he won't be allowed to bring them on the trip with him....

See ya at the lake.....

Steve

There is only one guy I know that can get you in more trouble at a bar than Sutton...and that is Bires. Of course Greg is nuetered now so he may be a "changed" man.

btw- Anyone riding with Sutton may want to switch cars at the border. Or walk across. Either one would be safer.

Holy crap! Can't wait to get there! We're also taking off early early early Saturday morning, and ought to arrive Sunday night late.
