Maple burl inlaid with turquoise

Scott ! SERIOUSLY MAN ! SHUT UP with the
techniques ! People are going to stop believing I have access to rare and endangered turquois trees !!!!

That was the challenge I was thinking about when I considered running fine fishing line down over that lip then dribbling lacquer down the line until it builds up to look like water. I have seen some very realistic work done by a few taxidermists around here to simulate splashing water but I am not one of those guys. So I kept it simple.

You can see just a little blue just over the lip where I added a tiny bit of turquoise dust, just to draw the eye there and maybe help the imagination

So now I am just spraying a new coat every little while until I have it built up to where I want it, wherever that is.

I am going to have the guys down at the shop cut me a plate tabletop but I am not sure of the shape I want yet...maybe cut to follow that top surface outline only larger, or maybe just round like 42"
