Anyone on here hunting Eiders is a general Massachusetts area that would take a guy out to get one nice Drake? I have self-guided myself but have a mount I am doing that needs one Drake that I am short.. I will be in Connecticut the last week of season most likely.

Well.. I did find a guide on the Cape... Let me use his gun...and took me for 1 day. I have never hunter eiders from the beach .. but it worked!.. I brought a lot of sand home with me!!!

Glad you found a guide Phil. Hunting off the beach must have been great. I have to do that at least once.

I prefer off the water.. or rocks.. Sand just sucks!!! especially in the rain.. the sand sticks to everything!!!! LOL.. but it was a target rich environment!

Yes it does, and you will find some months from now, but won't wonder where it came from. It is the gift that keeps on giving
 
Phil, what was the shooting like? Decoying birds or pass shooting? Could I ask full or half day, what was the price. Who was your guide, license fees?

Some pass shooting and for sure decoying birds. Eidernation.com Jamie will hunt all day if that is what it takes.. which is unusual. License was about $100. I know I paid a premium as I was out there for work.. and I called him the week before to set it up... He let me use his brand new (never even put together) SBE3... I think his rate might be $250/day but not sure.
This video shows the shooting.... I attribute the piss pour shooting to it being an unfamilar gun...:p;) and note to self DO NOT LEAD A BIRD 10 YARDS from you!
