Went outside after supper with the camera to see how close I could get to a Robin.
This was the best I could do with the 50mm lens. A fair bit of cropping.
Still at least a month and a half before it's residents will move back in.
Then I heard some honking off to the south, a flock of Canadas moved by to the west.
More came by overhead.
This was about as close as any came. Still some heavy cropping but they were pretty close for coming over town.
Many geese flew over including one flock of Whitefronts that I couldn't get a good photo of.
I decided to start the first backyard fire of the spring. Most of my wood was too wet but it blazed up for a minute... and I got smokey smelling.
Maybe someday a few geese will stop and check out those sillywetts in the background.
This was one of the first pleasant evenings of the spring. The sounds, the sights and the warmth of the sun are all starting to show up.
