Headed out yesterday morning with just the dog, weather was calling for clear skies and temps in the 60's. I wanted to hunt an area of the refuge I only got to hunt once last year. Its a large impoundment and I wanted to do a little more exploring for this season. I knew there were quite a few birds using the northwest corner, but with the weather being so nice I wasnt expecting much. Much to my delight the birds flew pretty descent and I was able to bring a few home with me. The mallards didnt want to fly much but the spoonies and teal were cooperative, so I obliged them. also added a lone drake redhead to the bag. here is a picture of my four rivers boat all grassed out, it blends in perfectly with the large tracts of alkali bullrush we have out here.
