Meg got her first duck!

Finally Meg found a duck that sat still long enough for her to put down her snack, walk from the fire to her gun, line up a shot, get nervous, chicken out, line it up again, find some confidence, and let fly the 20 ga. It was a hen buffy and we were out today in the nastiest weather of the season. After she got her one duck she wanted to pack up and head for home and a hot bath. We managed to get her to stick around long enough for Mac to hit one GE, but a snowstorm hit and nothing was flying, so we packed up early and came home. She's been telling everyone that I got skunked, but she didn't.

Mike,

You are one lucky man. The picture of Meg, you, and the duck needs to go on the wall. Keep your guns close...in a few years you are going to need them to keep the boys off the porch. Please pass on my congratulations to Meg. I cannot wait until my daughter gets her first duck.

My best,

Don Shearer

Congrats to both of you......send some of that nice weather down here to Michigan. We've had nothing but BLUE SKIES since opener last week!!!

Congratulations Meg!

Those donuts taste a lot better after a successful morning's hunt, don't they?

Rick

Mike,
Great to see you up and about, taking the kids out and enjoying life. If you ever find yourself in a not so happy mood take a look at those pictures and smile! You are a very lucky man, great job.

NICE JOB MEG !!

Mike tell Meg she's famous now. I have been showing some of my kids in class who have expresses interest in hunting what waterfowling is all about. Today some of the young ladies got a real boost out of seeing Meg's success.

I wish the divers would get a bump this way. We are still gunning local woodies, mallards, and teal.

We need to see some of Mac's shadow decoys out there doing their thing.

Way to go Meg...I knew you could do it. That 20ga don't kick much at all when you're shooting ducks.

Take care,

Ed L.

Mike,

You guys are having too much fun. Tell Meg congrats. Hey, I finally completely cleaned the back of my truck yesterday and guess what I found? The Fathers day card Meg made for me while I was there. Tell again for me how much I appreciated it. Also tell her I'll display it along with my birthday cards tonight ( today is my 57th birthday).

Happy Birthday Dave! I forgot about that card. I'll tell her for you. And I'll let her read all the responses of congratulations when she gets home form school guys. I know she'll be bragging about her hunting trip all day. I will for sure!

Mike

Congrats Meg!
That's great stuff. Meg you'll never forget that moment... you're a waterfowler now.

Tim

Congrats Meg! You beat Blake, he missed a beauty of a wood duck drake Saturday at about 20 feet. Good shooting, now go show up that big brother of yours.

Meg, Congratulations!!! Now it's time to really start out shooting your dad and brother...cuz girls rule!

Meg

Nice going. Love the donut eating grin. Save those pics for one day you will have a boyfriend and if he's a hunter you will be even cooler in his eyes knowing you can shoot too.

Eric

Way to go Meg.

Now I have kids making me jealous!

Really, great job!! Glad to see that there are capable young people ready to carry the waterfowling torch into the future!

Best Regards,

Paul Rutgers
