Memorial Day

I think we should ponder the lives of the men who have given their lives in service to this country. It may seem like I am splitting hairs, but Memorial Day is to honor our war dead. Lets thank the veterans on Veterans Day.

If you think there isn't a difference, ask a Gold Star Mom.

100% accurate Terry, Veteran's Day is for all Veterans. Memorial Day is for those solders who gave the ultimate sacrifice. It's a pet peeve of mine too.

Rich & Terry~

I appreciate your acknowledging Memorial Day a few days ago, but my family and I still cling to the "original" May 31 date - for a good reason. My Dad lived through both WWII and Korea as a Marine and so gave us many fine memories until age 86. We all thought it appropriate that he passed away 3 years ago on the traditional date for this holiday - 3 years ago today.

Here he is at age 82. He still had 3 more seasons ahead of him but this was his last triple.

That's a great shot Steve of a great man. To have served in both conflicts and still have that smile. Remembrance is a daily gift for the lucky ones.

Steve, its hard to choke up a old vet as myself but when I saw your Dad and the post something went trough my heart. Thanks for shearing. Never forget those who gave their all.
