Heading to Middle Creek Pennsylvania WMA for a snow goose hunt this sat. I have never hunted the area before. Hopefully some good pics to follow.

Sounds fun, Haven't heard that name in awhile. Back around '82 my father was drawn for a blind down there. To bad it was on the first day of buck season! Of course that was when there were Deer in N.W Alleghenys, so it wasn't hard to decide where we were going. On top of that dad's girlfriend set to wrong WMA It was suppose to go to Pymmy. Our % for being drawn at Middle creek is still a 100% to this day:) Good luck with your trip.

If the snow geese are as thick there as they are in southeast new jersey it should be a good hunt. Good Luck.

I talked to someone that was there last weekend. he told me that the estimate was 100K. You should see some birds there.

Tim - I got an email with a video of the area that a photog took with a slr camera on a tripod......the geese looked like locusts...........swarms of thousands.

Tim, hope ya get things in order so ya can go. If I may ask what does a guide fee run over there? Also are you layout hunting or perm. blinds? It's going to go up to 44 tommorrow if that helps:) All schools or 2 hr daily around my neck of woods only about 4" so far?

Guides are around $150. They hunt out of layouts. The warm is going to cause more issues. I wish it would stay cold for a week.

Good luck with the basement. PGC released estimates today at 50,000 geese still in Middle Creek. That is down from earlier this week. A warm weekend with south west winds will continue to lower that number. The conservation season runs for a while yet, but really the last two weeks in February through the first two in March are when I've seen the best numbers.

We don't see the same number of snows in the Lehigh Valley, but some guys still hunt them. I don't really enjoy setting out 800 decoys to watch geese fly by all day. But that's just me. I'm sure my opinion would change if I ever get witness a tornado landing right on me. I did give it a shot last saturday. We got some early looks but the flock ended up in the field across the street, then lifted off and headed elsewhere. There was a tremendous amout of Waterfowl in the air all day. More canadas and ducks then I'd ever seen in a day, plus some swans, and of course the snows.

We saw thousands of birds. A great experience we had a few work but the wind didn't cooperate early. Several birds where heading north and it looks like the bulk of them are moving on. It was well worth the money in my opinion.
