The different birds are really starting to do different spring moves, especially the mergs running across the surface and rearing up and flapping for attention -

The several flocks of brant are still here. I enjoyed reading Worth's new book and he has some great descriptions of the flying power of brant which I hope you see in a few of these....also some jewelry -

Thank you, I did enjoy them. The first brant is my favorite... or maybe the snow goose... the blue heron is pretty cool too....

Nice stuff Dick. I haven't forgotten, just dropped the bridge boat off yesterday for service.

Like the hawk photo and of course the eiders!

Hello Sarge
Some great shots there. Lots of different birds. What a good day in the marsh. I especially like the red breasted Merg on the water. Great shot. The brant are pretty cool to. Keep um coming.

Hey Troy thanks ! I may sneak up to Hallowell or try your area from shore this weekend but given the list for the weekend might have to set up around here. Have to put in a good half day to prep the fishing boat.

Thanks Gary - I was discussing smugmug today with one of our very sharp guys in the office and he was very impressed with your site there. Have been experimenting with different watermarks in this group and I think I will settle on a very light white watermark as it does not seem to interfere too much with an image. Can't thank you enough !

Thanks Tim - Can you guys see the ground yet ?

Yep, we got rid of the snow pretty fast here but it just won't warm up enough to melt the lakes. Not too far north it is hard to see the ground between the snow and water. Should be good for the pond counts.

Dick, Looks like you are getting your camera dialed in!!!!! nice shots

You are making me jealous, as I am was planning to spend hours and hours in the marsh this spring, but since I am working for the man... I can't... grrrrr

Thanks for the great shots Dick! I had the pleasure of hunting the salt marsh A few years ago In december by the golf course. We stayed out in the marsh In an old duck camp and i got to see birds we never see inland.Your pic's brought me back to that time.

Hi Al - Thanks ! That is a L.L. Bean decoy.........they do not self right but they are killers............be sure to post something warm this weekend to remind us that the snow we just got is April Fools !

I have a number of places where I have red tails working, now all I need to do is be there when they nail something - that would be the best.

Awesome shots Dick. The first brant photo is my favorite. Keep 'em coming!

Nice pics. I really like the brant and goldeneye shots. Keep them coming and thanks for sharing.

Hi Gary - Thanks......to tell the truth, things have been coming together for me very recently with new camera/lens and a lot of help from other DBDN members...........I was very pleased to see how that little goldeneye was captured as he was so small and going so fast........some luck there for sure.
