Greetings from Houghton Lake. A great time was had by all last night. We shared some wonderful food and fellowship. There were some awesome decoys that were raffled and auctioned raising money for a great cause. On a down note it was unfortunate that Blake had to return home early and was unable to attend. Blake, if you're reading this, I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you and hope your brother feels better soon. Regarding the hunts, they turned out to be a bust for most people with only a few birds taken. We had ducky weather just no ducks to be found! Oh well, that's hunting. I enjoyed putting faces with the names as I not had met most of the people in attendance. I've never met a group more passionate about their hobby and more caring for their friends than the people here; and to think, all this from "just" a couple of websites.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for you efforts in arranging the banquet. That was quite a buffet for the money and a perfect location. Did you guys do any good on Saturday? The wind was really howling when we left a 6:15am.

Thanks for picking out a great restaurant for the gang to get together! It was really fun to meet everyone and share hunting stories from the weekend.

Also, your suggestions on how to hunt "that spot" on Saturday were good. We actually shot our guns for the first time that weekend and some new ducks and geese that must have blown in over night. Too bad the wind blew our shot the wrong way, hahaha. We left some birds for ya! Good luck hunting - it's just getting good.

Everyone has been telling me that Blackduck was big, but I got to say that thing it FRIGIN HUGE!

Thanks so much for setting up the dinner, Blake and I ate there Wednesday nite he was so excited to check out where we were all going to be on Friday.

He was pretty bummed we had to go but had a great time while we were up there.

Thanks again to everyone! Im sure if there is another time and spot to be had where we can all come together Blake and I will be right there!
