Hello i have been thinking about buying a momarsh fat boy but want some peoples views on the before i make an investment. any comment for or against are welcome. Thanks Much Dan

I looked at an awful lot of different boats. I talked to a ton of owners of all different boats as well.
I own a Fatboy DP, and I love it. I paddle where it takes me. Haven't towed it yet, but understand that they tow well. Got it with the short doors so I'd have space for the dog behind. Grassed mine up and disappeared.

Use the "search posts" function on the toolbar, there has been a lot of helpful insight with pro's and con's of both the fatboy and the DP...THey seem like a great boat for there own purposes. Good luck!

I am going to the shop to put together the first of the originals out of the "new" mold. I will take some pics. For those of you that have been on the B/O list, we will begin shipping out the backorders this week!

I will try to post some pics when I get back..

Thanks, Ira

Dan,

If you ever make it up to the Waverly area, give me a shout. I have an original FATBOY that your welcome to take a look at before you buy. With some notice, we might be able to put it in the water. I love mine, great boat. I run 6.5 hp Mudbuddy on it.

Widened the stern part of the cockpit by making it taper less. There were some pics on here a few weeks ago of the mold. Should give more legroom to big guys like you using a short door blind.

YEAH BABY!!

I'm one of those "back orders" and it's been killing me. I can't wait to see the new boats and hunt to from one. I would definitely check out the old posts because there is a ton of info and stories (ie. opinions) out there. That's the great thing about this site - insight:)

YEah, I will have to check it out. They will be shipping this week and next!

Bob that still looks like a muskrat crawling out of a muskrat tump!

Ryan,

I feel it handles well. No high speed cornering of coarse, but a FATBOY isn't desinged for that anyway. The biggest thing is keeping your load balanced properly front to back. With me, gun, 5 doz. dekes, seat, gear bag, etc I can run 8-10 mph according to my GPS. I gotten up to 14 mph running down stream on a local river. In short I don't feel the boat is over powered.

Thanks Jeff. I'd love to see someone design a 3-4hp surface drive 'weedless' motor. I hear MB might be doing something in this range...
