Mr. Morton Bags a Banded Brant...

Nice job Dave, Our coastal season starts in another week and hope to shooting some Brant too. by the way I"m still waiting for Andrew's secret recipe for the Brant. I took my nephew out on Thanksgiving morning he shot a nice mallard drake only his second duck the first was on Veterans day, and don't you know it, it was banded.

Way to go Dave! I knew I was screwing up by going to feed a bunch of kids. I should have gone with your crew.
We have not had the push of birds yet. Should be soon.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks guys ! Andrew thanks for posting that picture up for me as well , i only wish you had been there this morning . So here is the story , Set out to my spot at 5:15 this morning no wind and calm seas , made the 3 mile hike in about 15 minutes . Setup on a sandbar/point i new the Brant were feeding at set all the dekes and waited ,about an hour later i noticed that all the birds were avoiding me like the plaugue , so i decided to move the setup to a further point , was there for about an hour and this lone Brant decided to checkout what we had to offer , took 2 shots missed DAMN , i thought he was gone he flew out about 100 yards and decided that he would like to become part of the bag for the day , 1 more shot and down he came , dog made a great retreive and the band was my second band , 1st was from my 1st goose i ever shot about 15 years ago , what a good hunt it turned out to be . Next we will work on a band for my partner Andrew , got back to the ramp and Andrew showed up with his son Will to see what i had , met some great guys at the ramp this morning that really kind of set the tone for the hunt . Bob you are always welcome Thanks again guys
