My end to 2014

Believe it or not I called it a season at 8:30 Sunday morning. I shot my Can at 7:15 and had the 3 greater bills by 7:30. Before 8 I shot the beautiful little buffy and then watched more bills divebomb the decoys as well as sleep in the spread for a good half hour. Tide was coming in and I couldn't shoot any more bills so I picked up and cruised around trying to find some other ducks to finish up. Competition was fierce and all of the good spots I knew had hunters already there. Headed to the launch for a quick pic and called it a season. Overall I'm pretty satisfied with how it went for me as the weather wasn't typical for duckin.

Oh yeah, they were decoying really well and the head shots kinda messed em up a little.

I know that ramp. Haha. Interesting observation Earl. I also shot more canvasbacks there this year. The greaters were late in arriving as well. Glad you had a strong finish.

Earl~

Sounds like a fine day.

I'm curious about that diamond-plate on the bow of your boat - got a photo(s) of the entire vessel?

All the best,

SJS

Steven,
This is it. A 20' Alumaweld super vee. Double duty fishing and hunting machine. A little too big to hide at times but I made it work. This summer I plan on trying to devise a blind that doesn't require drilling or bolting. Will try using the rod holder mounts in fabricating a PVC blind.
