people say duck boats are single purpose, i disagree. i have a duck boat, raceboat, mud boat, mini crab boat, and a one man fishing boat. thats a lot of birds with one stone.

i have only ran it for about an hour. the only problem i have had is the sheath on the throttle cable keeps slipping through its clamp, so i loose top end until i reset the sheath. other than that it rips and goes through weeds well, i havent tried mud yet. electric start was the best investment, there is a button to start it right on the handle. so far i would definetly recommend it. that 12 horse has been moved to my 14 ft deep v and i am toying with the idea of buying there six horse for the sneak boat, the twelve is just to big and heavy for a ten foot boat.

Thanks for posting up. I would like to hear how the motor works on the deepvee 14'. was thinking about the very same thing just yesterday.
Bill.

ill post pics of the 14 deep v today since it is finnally not raining, i have also just put a homemade scissor blind on it. i wanna show that off too. depending on what time i get back from my lab today i might take the sneak boat out to try the four horse mariner on it

hahaha....too many people EVERYPLACE Chris. And just when you think the crowds are thinning, the freeze comes and it's WORSE.

And what do you do when you break ice for a mile with your boat, get the prime spot, have your dekes set, and are sitting there sipping a coffee when you see another boat coming, and despite shining your light, they come and set up 75 yds from you, then, you see two more boats coming and they set up 75yds to the other side of you? Oh, and it was almost an hour's ride to get to the ramp, you were the second one to launch, and if you decide to pick up and move, it will be legal time even before you are done picking up?

Don't hunt on weekends.

private land on weekends until december, then my "secret spots"
to bad there are no secret spots left in ct

one time for a rainy weekend day i wanted to hunt a blind on state land, we brought a cooker so we had hot coffee, perogies, sausage, and a dozen eggs. we left at 1 am to make sure we were the first guys there. at about four all the late guys were coming out and we shined our lights and they all sped back up and went to a different spot. but one guy slowed way down and yelled into the pitch dark
you assholes that's my blind!!
he then got back on his motor hard and ripped to somewhere else

i have had other problems too, but they are usually just during early season. when deer season isn't open.

Chris,
that is funny, I have done that. Sleeping in the swamp is a true sign of a duck nut! I have grown to laugh a little bit less about the f bombs being dropped as the late guy walks out.
Here is why. As much as I want to hunt alone I now know how much we need every duck hunter and all the rest including the trappers up at the state house. And if a guy quits because he gets up late and dosnt have a spot we are in trouble.

I sure dont have the answer but I do see how we need every vote.

Till I figure it out keep flashing that light.....

Bob
