My new "Swamp Seat"

Thanks for all the replies.

I didn't have enough have 2" X 4" laying around so I had to spend $1.86 on one. Got home and used the measurements provided by Steve above (thanks Steve) and hacked something together in a short time. Made one "custom" addition in that the support beams on the one just made fold. Figure it might fit in the boat better.

No idea if this will work or not but for the two days/year I stand while hunting this should do fine. A buddy did have to let me know tht one of the commercial seats are on sale at Fleet Farm. Tempting for sure.....

nice work Mark! I'm sure it was fun project to think through.

You my have already heard this suggestion but I'm a deal shopper (refuse to pay full price for absolutely anything) and I have have two nice "swamp/muck" seats that I got for less than half price... always wait until mid-Jan and then start looking. I got one from Bass Pro a cpl yrs ago on a free shipping and 50% off sale so I paid like $22+taxes and it's still going strong after 6-7yrs. I've had same opportunity with Cabelas but didn't need it. I picked up another one at an Academy Sports in Feb of 2014 as they have some really great fire sales (... got a steal on some Ol Tom turkey gear this yr after season) to rid excess inventory and they make their own brands (exact knock-offs) much cheaper standard prices.

Caveat is I work in Huntsvile which is land of the geeks and video gamers so lots of hunting/outdoor gear goes unsold and us price-cautious shoppers can always count on getting deals on anything other than ammunition.
