My old jeans story.

I'm writing an article about these jeans, so I can't give you guys all the details right now, but I thought you'd get a kick out of seeing them. I was talking to an old gold miner from Dawson a couple of weeks ago and he was showing me some of his oddities collected over the years. Some truly unique stuff for sure, including this old pair of Levis 201's. According to my interweb research they were probably made before 1925, possibly as old as 1901. They were found while excavating gravel and frozen much out of a ravine that had been tunneled by hand during the Gold Rush times.

Meg wants to make cut offs out of them. I think I should sell them to some millionaire hipster.

I like the tabs on the back to take the waist up during the "starving" times of winter, or let the waist out for the union suit.

Did you guys notice no belt loops? Does that mean these pants predate the invention of belts? I doubt it, but it is interesting that suspenders were more the stye than a belt.

I love the wear on the pants as well. I too have a hole over my right pants pocket on lots of jeans from carrying a jackknife in there.

It does look like someone went full Hulk on the legs there!

Pretty cool sell it on ebay people pay big bucks for previously worn jeans these days. Old levi knew how to make jeans that can take a beating.

That's kinda the idea with the article. I want to find out more about these jeans to satisfy my own curiosity, and in researching I discovered there's a website called Denim Hunters occupied by denim experts and collectors. Once I get the article out on their website, the offers will come flooding in and I'll be able to buy a newer truck with AM AND FM radio!
