NDR: Any thoughts on crow control in the neighborhood??

Crows are pretty smart birds and as such, they know enough to leave when their roost is disturbed.

If they are roosting in town, disturb their roost. I dont think you need poison (bad idea), shotguns or mexican tamales. Just some loud music for a little while, or some human presence.

Go over there with your million candlepower Q Beam and give 'em a shot.

If I had time, I'd drive up there and moon the little bastards while you shine that spotlight on my butt.

That oughta scare just about anything away...or maybe see if the Mayor of your town would volunteer and save me the gas money. He'd win votes and get a headline in the local paper, I bet.

I read you Joe,
Or you could feed them a dose of vitamin 6's. Damned shame the crows can't be taken by careful gunners anytime and anywhere they are a nuisance.

I agree the nat'l bird of mexico should be killed on site and happy sinco de julio. Thanks for the swine flu and fireants and illegals Mexico. Avoid Swine Flu, stay out of Wal Mart especially on Saturdays and Sundays when all the illegals come to town.

Thought I'd tell you what I thought too,
Harry

I have figuratively eaten a lot of crow but never actually tasted any. I'm told some folks really relish crow breasts. Guess I've seen them eating carrion enough that it would put me off.

Best,
Harry

Ducks love sewage treatment ponds, but you eat them. :-)

Hey I was just trying to answer Nick's questions: how to get rid off them effectively and how to avoid a ticket. Secondary poisoning of hawks and owls has gotten a lot of farmers and others tickets even though they never had any intention of killing those species.

man, you don't want to think about stuff crabs eat, then, do you? What are mushrooms cultivated on? yeah, it's sterile, but feces is still feces. Stripers aren't referred to as turd rasslers for nothing, ya know.
HEHHEHEHEHHEHEH
The year we did the crow at h de g, we also did coot breasts--did both blackened and beer battered-folks wiped us out pretty quick!

featuring a web cam of a Pergrine Falcon nest with people posting about how neat that is and then this one where at least one poster things that accidentally killing raptors, and "anything else" would be "just fine" and that anyone that cares is a "cry baby".....

Clearly we are a group shod in everything from steel toed corks to croc's....

Interesting indeed.....

Steve

Well I am glad I offered a solution that was both humane AND ecologically responsible.

I guess that there is a certain amount of irony in that, since my method would, in effect, "kill two birds with one stone" (but not really...bringing even more humanity to bear on the challenge)

... and what are crocs...are they like those "MOON PIES" or whatever it is that southern people eat with their peanuts soaked in boiling water?

One old way to deal with crows was to tie a bundle of dynamite up in a tree in the roost at night. Very effective... A side note all windows within a half mile were blown out.

You have to deal with a lot of regulations now days. Things have changed.......( : )
