NDR but it made me smile a bit of justice out of Neb.

It is my belief that your rights end where and when they begin to impose on mine. These people from KS are free to express themselves all they want. That is until they impose upon the rights of others, such as the right to express your grief for a lost loved one in a solemn and peaceful manner. Those turds from KS can air radio messages, buy TV time, hand out pamphlets, buy billboards, print articles, and even sky wright if they want to, but they need to keep their damn rights off of ours! So, I say I have just enough right to express what I just said here, by beating the living daylights out of some of them, as they do to disrupt and interfere with someone's civil right to conduct a funeral in peace. That is my point.

I have been following this thread for a couple of days now and have been moved greatly. I have nothing to add, beyond what has already been said. I do have a friend serving currently in the Green Zone in Baghdad. He is set to come home in August. Until recently, my brother-in-law was serving in the Army reserves. He decided to go active about 2 weeks ago and will be deployed with my sister to a base either in the south or possibly Arizona. His COs have been telling his group that they will likely go to Iraq in December. My sister will be having their first child around that time as well. I pray for both Ray and Nayt often, in addition to all of our men and women who are currently serving, and their families.

I have two quotes that I think are very poignant (for me at least), said by men who knew the pain of war and lost good friends in battle. Take them for what they are worth. God bless our troops, and God bless America!

What a cruel thing is war: to separate and destroy families and friends, and mar the purest joys and happiness God has granted us in this world; to fill our hearts with hatred instead of love for our neighbors, and to devastate the fair face of this beautiful world. ~ Robert E. Lee

Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe, to assure the survival and the success of liberty. ~ John F. Kennedy

Best,
Nate Grace

Hey Guys,

Seems like I picked a bad topic to chat about. I'll go delete those posts so I don't ruffle any more feathers. I think I've irritated enough of you for one week. Sorry.

Charlie

Charlie:
We understood your point (if I remember it correctly. I couldn't recheck because you deleted the post). All of us here are well aware of the constitution, the ideal of liberty and the costs to our country to provide and maintain those. I believe you were stating a correct belief in the first amendment and the freedom of speech and association. We believe it too. My point, and in no way was I trying to argue or belittle what you had said, was that there are appropriate ways to deliver messages and there are inappropriate ways that impose on others. The KS crowd seems not so much to be delivering a message as it is that they are trying to be offensive. There is no amendment in the Bill of Rights that guarantees the right to be offensive. So go ahead an espouse your support for the constitution, but not for that bunch of malcontents. Now go and repost what you said and stop this remorseful, humility crap because we are your friends. I think you banned yourself from this forum before, didn't you you big silly.

Dave,
that picture of your nice holding your brother in laws leg says it all. I was moved by the picture of Benjamin Desilets daughter to post the notice of his loss on this board. I reposted on this thread because I wanted to be sure that we all don't forget these families that are carrying the burden for each of us. My mom was raised by her mother and her grandmother and I can't help but think of her as I see these little girls today.
I have been glad to see the Patriot Riders photos that show up here, but this is the first time I have been brought so close to one families loss.
As for the folks from Kansas, the Gov. of CT signed a bill prohibiting this stuff at a military funeral. She is also about to sign a bill making us criminals if we don't report a stolen duckgun in a timely manner, so remember laws can go both ways.
My brother in law is serving with his Marine unit in Willow Grove, as we speak, and we are all thinking of the families that have service men and women overseas right now.
Charlie and Ken thanks for working together. I think our support as a group can help the Desilets family.
Terry if you read this shoot me an email with your address, I would like to send you something.

What sort of person can smile at any part of the fucked up situation presented? All I see is horrific, pathetic and very, very sad... nothing to smile at at all.

I thought I was signing on to duckboats.net, not debatetheconstitution.net.

Tod that woudl be directed directly at me so Ill answer you.... guess you dont know me or understand the situation toatly is all i can say to you. You havent dealt with them directly and been subject to them so when they put the cuffs on her and took her off even for something petty yes it did feel good in my heart. The protest was broken up and the funeral went on in PEACE.

As far as the content of this forum I di put NDR and if there was a problem with it I woudl imagine the MODS would of killed it.
May folks dont have a clue what is really going on out there and what is happening to people, that they dont know but
someday everyone will be touched by this stuff in some way or another. Information and if you dont want to deal with reading it just dont you
dont have to Tod. I am sorry if i have offended you but whats done is done....

Dave

As I said, the events are horrorific and very, very sad.

This is a discussion forum, you opened up an item for discussion and I entered the discussion.

Tod

Charlie, I see you have deleted some of your posts. I, like others, don't feel that was necessary. You presented your thoughts & views in a calm professional manner. There is no need to recant.

He All,

I appreciate it, but in retrospect I dont think this is the place for me to debate constitutional rights. Especially when we have people here who are suffering losses and others doing their part to support the families of the fallen. I can do that some other time...

I'd love to chat about it in the duck blind or by the fire after a long day in the field though.

Have a great day.

Charlie

Those idiots are within their rights. The Nebraska Law is unconsitutional. The Supreme Court has ruled that flag burning is included in one freedom of speech.

That being said, I will also readily violate any individuals rights, if I were to see them doing such a thing... Especially at a funeral of any veteran... I have a niece in I have a great--..... grandfather that was a Major in the Revolutionary War....all the way to my niece that is in Iraq currently.

My prayers are with you, and all the families of outr fallen heros.

I am in the Air National Guard and a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom. When I took the oath, I swore to uphold the Constitution of the United States, and that means also defending the right of inbred nitwits to protest. That said, I think the whole congregation from that lunatic Baptist church needs a good old fashioned ass whuppin'. They are a depiscable bunch of losers.
