so with April first opened tog and winter flounder.

my cousin and i jumped in in niantic yesterday. it was a balmy 45 in the water which is fine with me, the problem came from the vis. i had about 2 ft until 100 ft off shore. i got to the spot and couldn't see my elbow. checked out the new spot (lots of big caves, :) and got out.

my buddy now works for North atlantic fisheries commission doing saltwater angler intercepts, and said people were catching a few flounder yesterday, so we decided to get out early this morning before his shift.

it was gusting 60mph and snowing, we just casted out, propped up our rods and sat in the car.

we are going to try again mid week after work, when is winter going to let up?

any of you southern guys getting out on the salt?

I had planned to fish for sheepshead and Spanish macs the last two weekends. Rain & wind killed those plans.
The long range forecast looks good for next weekend, we'll see.

The trees are all leafed out, peach trees loaded with fruit, roses are just beginning to bloom, and the hummers are back. Spring is here.

our buds started to pop, mid 20s tonight and teens soon.next weekend looks good for fishing but I'm sure it will take a while for the water to clear up and regain some heat for diving

daffodils have been blooming for 2 weeks!

good luck if you get out Carl

Al, need to see some pics of those hammers and of course 'Chaco'. We got 6 plus inches yesterday.

Still not here.....spitting snow here in PA and the forecast is cold and snow for tomorrow...............blah!

I was sampling monitoring wells in sleet, hail, and snow all day.

I'm gonna try to dive next weekend and am going for flounder at some point this weekend.

The greenhouse around here are very busy

Chris,
I have been working at a real remote site last two days. It takes a snowmobile to get into it about a mile. Yesterday I got a sunburn. Today I wore sunblock but at the end of the day I was ridding on dirt for part of the way out.

Spring is even here in the north now.
