NDR - Off electrical grid phone chargers question.

Small gel battery and a small amperage power inverter I'd what I have done. Also could rig up a 12v plug if you're technology inclined

Phil,

I appreciate your comments but could you please translate: "Color problem comes if you were very well let's do not work when the key is off but still. "

You could try one of these, a biolite stove. No idea how well they work but looks interesting.

I have a couple of he external batteries for my phone, one you can just set your phone on top of after you turn it on and it will charge it(or you can plug the phone in), the other is just a plug in. I will be carrying one of these with me when I am hunting from now on. It takes a while, but either one will give me between 1 and 2 full charges. They are about $20-30, pretty cheap insurance. Two of these will get me through several days without a live plug.

Yes, I looked at solar and could not find a better option than a battery. This was for backpacking, so weight was a primary consideration and I wasn't worrying about price (much). I bought a black diamond ember which is a power source and flashlight, which I'm really impressed with as a backup flashlight (lens is plastic is a downside). Price on them has recently come down to less than $40. Utility is going to depend on your needs, as in how many recharges you will get given your battery size.
