Thanks Jim. Truth be told, I'm only a part of the team. Jen is a machine before, during and after the trip - she really keeps things going.

I've been out that way a few times and I never get tired of the scenery. I don't think I ever could.

Would love to see any you have (other than of Mike - seen him and wasn't much to look at :). He sure tells a good story, though, and has a lot of neat stuff if you went by the house.
 
nice trip, spent time guiding Fly Fisherman about 20 years ago on pack trips in the the Wind River range just North of Pinedale on Rt 352 near Green River Lake such great memories, great country and great fishing. Haven't been back in some time hopefully some day!!
 
Just dropped my son's off to college. I cherish every chance I get to spend quality time with them. We got to fish in Mexico (Cancun) and a week long trip in Canada. It was hard to let them go and I hope we still have many journeys together. Enjoy your son while he is still young, they grow up so fast.

I would love to see the area 20 years ago! The more popular areas get a lot of use these days, we were in the S end of the range and we did find the solitude we were looking for. When we were out there in 2012, we canoed on Lower Green River Lake and it was spectacular, the fishing was good and just looking up at the mountains planted the seed for this trip. Hope you get back out there, I'd like to hear a comparison to the old days.

from what I understand the area has been built up quite alot. The moutains ranges from the pictures you posted look very similar to what I remember. I had an opportunity to buy 50 acres that backed up to the Bridger Wilderness area for $10k and passed what a mistake that was.
 
Very nice Tod. Excellent trip into a wonderful area. I know your son will remember that trip for ever and will soon out fish you (see my example below). My first trip into the Wind Rivers was 1979, but I don't think we caught anything bigger than a 12 inch brook trout. I wish I had all of my old photos digitized because I'd show you shots of the area 35 years ago. It really doesn't look any different.

Here are a few shots from a recent fishing trip to Colorado with my oldest son. I can't hold my own fishing with him anymore.

Really enjoyed the pictures.
We spent a week backpacking north of the big Sandy opening in 1988.

I remember fishing a lake with a name similar to an Egyptian landmark for Goldens. Didn't catch a single one though.

I seem to remember camping by the mountain with the big M on it.
I know we climbed mt gieke one day after we got tired of scrubbing fish pans.

Post more pictures if you get a chance. It's a beautiful area.
