sweet video, i'm going sunday, if I remember i'll try to post a video to contrast against your fishing style. We iced 8 yf's in the 40-50 lb class last wed along with 3 wahoo, but didn't have the cameras on.
Thanks again everyone. I really enjoy making the videos and reviewing the footage, especially in the doldrums of February and March!
Kris I'm assuming you guys daytime chunk around the rigs in the gulf? Guys primarily chunk at night in the northeast and last weekend the bite was wide open, though a large yellowfin for us is 100 lbs compared to the brutes you guys get in the gulf.
we catch yellowfin chunking (day and night), live baiting, and trolling. Is somewhat governed by time of year and where they are. Here they can be in lots of locales from 150ft-7K+
Glad you were able to get in on the incredible big eye bite that was happening off our coast this year! I am willing to bet it will go in the record books as one of the best years for bigeyes since the 1980's.I promise I'm going to get you out with us on the big boats next year, you'll have a blast!
Thanks Bill, it was killing me to not get in on the bigeye bite and it couldn't have worked out better. As for next year, you say the word and I am there!
