If you are a chocoholic, maybe---

The pups are 8 1/2 weeks old and as far as taking care of them, it looks like we now have 2 Marleys. They just decided to investigate the two gallon water dispenser that we use and tipped it over. Sure glad we have porcelain tile floors and that I was here in the room when it happened. Never a dull moment in this household.

This is Caya, which is the pup that I will train to hunt or at least attempt to. We are finding out that they are extremely intelligent. Their dad, Striker, is a great pheasant dog who just got back from a week in North Dakota followed by another week of upland game bird hunting in South Dakota.

This is Jali, which is easier to say than Jalapeno! Bev picked her out first.

Just before breakfast this morning, I brought my workboots in to warm them up a little before going out to load the truck with firewood. It was evident that Jali took an interest in those size 14s. I thought for a while that we would lose her. I know now that I'll never leave my boots in the house. She began to enjoy gnawing on them.

Al- Surely it wasn't THOSE two girls that caused that water to tip over. Look at em....they're so innocent looking....like little angels....

hahahahaha

cute girls you've got

Al, If two of them are to much trouble, you can send one my way. I like chocolate. Gabby is 5 and it's time to start thinking about a pup.

Al, What a couple sweethearts!!! They couldn't have possibly done anything wrong. Wouldn't it be something if we could keep them that cute forever? Maybe it wouldn't be so special then

Thanks for the warning this time, Al. :) That's a darned cute handful of chocolate.
I hope you're able to get out enjoy all of the birds that failed to stop and say hello in Montana this year.

There is nothing quite like the innocence of the young! Dani, you are so right about them being so angelic. NOT

I was just thinking how lucky you are to have Gabby teach that next pup you get when the time is right. I let Chili do that and now that she is gone, Habi, one of her students, is now taking over that assignment. That is how Chip learned to sit like a rock in the blind and not move. In less than an hour those two will be with me when I go on a duck hunt.

No matter how trying they get at times, we still love them just that much more.

Well, Tom, I hate to burst that balloon but they did! I wouldn't mind having one stay cute like that forever just because I'm sure I would have plenty of picture taking opportunities. The other one needs to grow up and retrieve ducks. You are so right. Those special moments wouldn't be so special.

Well, D.J., I am going out to hunt in a short time, I will let you know if any of those ducks from Montana got down here or if they are still hanging out in Colorado. I wanted to make sure you were warned about this thread in advance!

Al

You are being tag teamed LOL

They look like little angels!

Doug, that was a good one. I never looked at that like being tag teamed but so darn true. Nothing quite like the look of a pup.

You're killin' me.

John, if it is a slow death, I can post more pictures---

I must ask, are the cardinals in your backyard?
Al

Al,
Cardinals, titmouse, nuthatch, siskins, house finch, goldfinch, purple finch, three species of woodpeckers, doves etc...etc...

The new house sits on a wooded ravine and I have nine different feeders in addition to fifty pounds of corn per week for my 10 pet deer.

I'll post some red cardinal/white snow pictures for you...
