greetings and happy new year!
I will be on the CA coast - Half Moon Bay by SFO during the week of 1/13-18, and may have time to go for a day hunt during the week.
Looks like both duck and goose are open.
Do any of you have any suggestions?

Anybody have any recommendations on a diver/sea duck guide or public spots in that area?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Dave

who has a Guide Service in that area......Don't know why I can't find him in the Roll Call section but you can reach him on his mobile--717-745-7181.....if there are birds in the area Paul can put you on them.....Ducks that is, not Geese....if you want Geese don't call Paul.....Geese to Paul are like Women....no matter how bads he wants them he can't seem to find them, and on the rare occassion that he stumbles upon a "willing" one he messes up the opportunity.....

He has a website but I'm damned if I can remember the name of it.....I do seem to remember it has "north" in it....like that helps....

Hey now!!! I managed to kill a goose last season!! hehehe

And that's my old phone number.... 707-326-6681

http://www.NorCalWaterfowl.com/

Kinda hard for Steve to remember, since I live in NORthern CALifornia..... <insert smiley here> I can get you on some divers or put you in touch with some guys for geese. Hopefully this storm coming in doesn't push 'em too far away!

where's the THANKS FOR RECOMMENDING ME?......

And I've always heard Sacramento referred to as CENTRAL Cal. and not Northern Cal.....since you live closer to Sac than you do to Redding I'd challenge that "I live in NORTHERN Cal", comment.....

Notice you didn't dispute your lack of success with the ladies....at least you knew better than to try that....

Steve

I've never quite figured out how the bay area and Sacramento area is considered northern California?

Tight Lines ... Fred

Thanks for the referral Steve!
My trip is now a 4 day hit-n-run, so i can't go hunting. maybe next time.
Paul - I'll keep your contact information for next year, maybe something will work out.

Dave

The bay area is the bay area. Northern California is everything from Sacramento north and central CA is everything between Sac and the Grapevine.

Thaaaaaanks, Steve.... And I know the truth, we've seen the pictures, you were the nerdy guy with thick glasses and Debbie chased YOU down....

And Derek.... yer frickin' high. yeah, I'm in the Bay Area, but it's certainly considered Northern California. Heck, even the DeLorme map book includes us in the "Northern California" edition so that's good by me (though Steve will probably spend half the morning finding out just HOW WRONG I am).

And if you don't believe me, check out Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_California

(hehehe... That ought to rile up Steve)

And since I lived there as well, I can tell you that CENTRAL California (at least where the people that live there consider it) is the area south of Gilroy/San Jose/Salinas/Santa Cruz/etc. to about Oxnard, with the "center" of Central Coast being in San Luis Obispo/Santa Barbara.

if you will check your Wikipedia page that you hotlinked you'll see that you are clearly incorrect geographically....just read the first paragraph.....

Dont tell my work, i have taken up huffing of epoxy lately. No way in H e double hockey sticks will i put the bay area in "MY" northern California...

That's ok, if I could carve out the entire Sacto area from Nor Cal, I would.... hehehe

What harebrained idea you working on now??

trying to finish the second BBSB before the season ends. I have this little spot in the S bay where some loser guide takes people out - I plan on motoring through his decoys all morning yelling in my best Iranian Accent: You will blow up in a few minutes!!!!!!
